Ridge has yet to determine why Taylor returned to Los Angeles. He believed her when she stated she wanted to reunite with her family, but he began to feel something was amiss just before her fall. Taylor’s collapse could have occurred anywhere, but seeing Ridge and Brooke Logan triggered her feeble ticker to beat far too quickly. Thankfully, Ridge was still present after Brooke had left, or Taylor could have perished during a film shoot.
It’s noteworthy that Ridge is the second person to learn about Taylor’s suspected diagnosis. Following that, the first close family member to learn the truth greatly advances this tale. Taylor Hayes didn’t want the secret to be kept. If Taylor had intended to keep her illness a secret, she would have avoided Los Angeles. If Taylor were nearing the end of her life, she may have phoned Ridge and the children to share in her dying moments. But seeing Ridge and Brooke in Monte Carlo pushed Taylor to return home and organize her affairs.
Taylor knew, unconsciously, that she wouldn’t be able to keep this hidden forever. She also knew that her health was not expected to improve, and being in Los Angeles meant that the next stage of her disease would play out in front of her family, which it has.

There must be a definitive diagnosis. Dr. Grace Buckingham’s return suggests she will become involved in Taylor’s case. Li informed Taylor that she has other very qualified co-workers who can assist her, so having a familiar figure reappear made the most sense. Ridge’s awareness means the rest of the family will be aware too, so assuming Grace becomes engaged, Finn and Steffy Forrester can consult with Li and Grace, or at least be kept informed.
